Saw Rush three times luckily. Once in Calgary on the Snakes and Arrows tour and twice in UK. On the Time Machine tour they played the entire album Moving Pictures in track order. It was the concert of a lifetime for me.

Ozzy isn't a good person. Sharon isn't a good person. Hope their kids turn out better, but chances aren't good. If not for those musicians who surrounded ozzy during his career, we don't know who he is.

Vivian is a very kind and genuine man. He took 30 minutes of his time after a Riverdogs concert to hang out with me, and treated me like a brother. I hear that Dio was a very kind soul, as well. It saddens me that money and ego have such destructive impact on the bands and music we grew up with. Maybe one day we'll figure out how to avoid the pitfalls of pride and greed, and remember why we all love the music. 🤘😎

17:34 I dont know a single rush fan that wants "Rush 2", I am in the same boat that without the 3, there will never be "Rush." Personally, I would love to hear just a few songs with Alex and Geddy recorded, not to be a continuation of Rush, but to hear to two guys playing music again. Alex is my favorite guitarist and just having some new tracks to listen to is something I would love to see.

I think if Ged and Alex were healthy enough and wanted to, the one way forward would be to find a drummer they want to work with, write a couple of hours of new music, and perform primarily new songs, with just one or two Peart era tunes that vary show-to-show. I don't see them as a nostalgia act, so something like that is ballsy and unexpected. They were a big-label act prior to Peart, and there's no reason (other than age) that another post-Peart chapter can't happen, but it would work best with new music.

A paparazzi once asked Edward Van Halen “how does it feel to be the best guitarist in the world?” And Ed turned with a rye smile and answered “i dont know, youre going to have to ask Alex Lifeson”

I always felt a little bad for Alex because, while he's obviously a very talented guitarist, he's never been called the "world's greatest" unlike Geddy and Neil. This was a good interview. I don't feel bad for him anymore. He's humble enough to "settle for" being part of one of the greatest rock bands of all time.

Love this guy. One of my favourites is the opening to The Trees in I think it was the Exit Stage Left tour. What a legend! With the passing of Neil, music has lost one of the preeminent trios ever to grace a stage. God I miss Neil Peart!

I've seen him in concert starting back in the 70s many, many, many times. The came through Indianapolis a lot back then.

I started listening to Rush back in 1977. They became very popular worldwide after Permanent Waves was released in 1980. All their 70's albums were great except for Caress of Steel. 2112 was the landmark album that put them on the map. I can't believe the lyrics Peart would write, almost like a college professor talking down to his students....wait he was the professor wasn't he?

Growing up in the late 70s , I wasn't really a Rush fan & I definitely didn't think much of Alex's playing. About 20 years ago I re-introduced myself to Rush, now both are among my favorites.

I hate to be critical without knowing the background, but the interviewer is cold as a fish, delivering his questions like an AI. I would hope for a more involved discussion with someone as nice and interesting as Alex Lifeson, not just a q-a-q-a-q-a sequence with zero emotion.
